BDA Autumn 2013 - Bring a Friend

The Bowls Development Alliance is delighted to announce the next Bring a Friend campaign (supported by Bowls International and Julian Haines Bowls Shop) which will be held nationally between 14th September and 22nd September 2013

The Bring a Friend campaign asks clubs to turn to their existing members and encourage them to bring a non-bowling friend to their club to take part in their Bring a Friend event, so rather than look externally, the club look internally in the first instance.

The campaign is going from strength to strength and during April’s Bring a Friend Week we had a record number of clubs registering to take part in the event. This is proven to be one of the best ways to recruit new members to your Bowls club. Many people would be reluctant to walk straight into a Bowls club on their own but, you would be surprised at how many of your friends would actually like to come along and try the sport. You can have a great time relaxing and socialising whilst enjoying our sport.

Bowls International is the leading Bowls publication worldwide and will be providing clubs with the opportunity to have a full page feature advertising their club in the magazine, which will be researched and written, by Editor Patrick Hulbert, as well as one year’s free subscription for four clubs. Julian Haines Bowls Shop is one of the largest bowls retailers in the UK having been in the business for over 20 years. They are providing all new members from the winning 4 clubs, who join directly as a result of a Bring a Friend event 10% discount vouchers on Bowls Equipment.

The two clubs who gain the most members during the campaign will receive a one page feature article in Bowls International, a year’s free subscription to the magazine as well as Julian Haines 10% discount vouchers for all of the new members. Two further clubs will receive the Julian Haines discount vouchers for their new members, an acknowledgement in the club news section of Bowls International as well as one year’s free subscription to Bowls International. These further two prizes will be drawn at random from all clubs who register their results to the BDA after their campaign.

Registration for the event is now open and can be accessed by logging on to http://www.bowlsdevelopmentalliance.co.uk/index.php/nationalcampaigns/bringafriend/bafregister
