The Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) is an organisation which has been created to lead on the development of the sport of Bowls through the clubs, counties and coaches in England. Working in partnership with Bowls England (BE) and the English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd (EIBA) the BDA aims to raise the profile of bowls by increasing participation and satisfaction levels of those playing the sport aged 55 and over.

Bowls is a popular sport with low barriers to entry and opportunities to participate throughout the year. It is a sport that people of all ages and abilities can actively enjoy recreationally through to elite competition. There are currently 400,000 club members in over 7,500 venues playing bowls.

The BDA is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and highly organised individual to help deliver the four year “Growing the Sport of Bowls 13-17 “plan for the development of Bowls and contribute to the successful delivery of our 16+ disability participation target. This is an exciting opportunity with significant potential for the role to develop as the organisation moves into the next whole sport plan period.

Applicants will be expected to have some experience of sports development, including working with disabled participants and will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the sporting landscape including local delivery. Knowledge of bowls would be an advantage, but is not essential.
