played at Melton Mowbray from 2nd to 5th April 2000.
Full Team details appear at the end of this Report
The Final was played on Wednesday afternoon, between Grantham and Whiteknights (Reading). In a tight and tense game lasting over four and a half hours, Grantham won 16-15 after taking the lead for the first time on the 17th end.

The Championship had started on Sunday night with Nottingham beating Cumbria 19-4, whilst Grantham took a 4 on the 13th & 17th end to eventually win 22-19 against Ipswich.

Large counts were a feature of the game between Avon Valley and Gallow, with Gallow taking 4's on the 14th and 16th end for a lead of 18-13, only for Avon Valley to pick up a 5 on the 17th end to tie the game at 18-18. Gallow took the final end to win 19-18.

The remaining First Round games were completed on Monday morning, with the eagerly awaited clash between Greg Harlow and Les Gillett. Chipping Norton conceded the game on the 15th end, with the Score standing at 11-25, leaving City of Ely to go through to the Second round and play Old Mill Leisure,  who had earlier beaten Folkestone 22-19.

Second Round games on Monday evening saw a number of tight results: strongly tipped Nottingham going out to Barking 22-20; Whiteknights taking a 4 on the 17th end to seal victory over the Father and Son's Triple from Carnmoggas 16-13; City of Ely beating Old Mill Leisure 14-13 after an extra end.

In the Quarter Finals Whiteknights had an easy win over City of Ely 21-9; North Walsham beat Preston 15-11; Gallow easily beat East Dorset 26-8; Grantham completed the Semi-Finals with a 25-4 victory over Barking.

Whiteknights reached the Final when they beat North Walsham 23-3, whilst Grantham had an easy win over Gallow 20-7.
