The highlight of the prelim round was the match between Mason Lewis and Jessica Srisamruaybai from Australia and Jack Breen and Lowri Powell from Wales. In the Tiebreak end Jessica drew the match winning shot to put the Australians through to a first round clash with Shirs Eshel (Israel) and Jason Banks (Scotland)

The first round match between Shirs Eshel (Israel) and Jason Banks (Scotland) and Jessica Srisamruaybai and Mason Lewis (Australia) was the last match completed in the day and saw an outstanding bowl to win the contest. The Israeli / Scottish combination scored a brilliant two to win the first set 6-5 before the Asutralian pair upped the ante by winning the second set 6-2. In the tiebreak end Jessica lay the shot after the front ends had played before Jason secured the shot by turning the shot bowl out of the head.
