INTRODUCING CLACTON BOWLS ACADEMY
The Clacton Bowls Academy is a new initiative designed exclusively
for young people aged 11-18, providing them with a welcoming and
supportive environment to learn, play, and excel in the sport of
bowls. Whether they are complete beginners or already have some
experience, the academy offers structured coaching, access to modern
facilities, and opportunities to compete in friendly and competitive
matches.
Why Young People Matter in Bowls
Far from being just a pastime for older generations,
bowls is a sport that rewards skill, strategy, focus, and teamwork -
qualities that young people can develop and showcase. By engaging
youth in the game, we're not just securing the future of the sport;
we're bringing in fresh perspectives, new energy, and innovative
playing styles.
Young players can: > Bring fresh
enthusiasm - their energy and eagerness can inspire the wider club
community. > Champion inclusivity - breaking down
stereotypes that bowls is "only for older players". >
Boost skill development - their adaptability and quick learning
often accelerate competitive growth. > Ensure
sustainability - a thriving youth section helps maintain club
membership and community interest for years to come.
Through
the Clacton Bowls Academy, we aim to nurture not just skilled
players, but confident young people who understand sportsmanship,
enjoy healthy competition, and contribute meaningfully to the life
of the club.
